Take the first of the red clips and attach it to the positive terminal of your battery. You can tell the difference between positive and negative because of the POS or + symbol, and the positive is larger than the negative. Next, put the second red clip on the other battery, followed by the first of the black clips on the other battery's negative terminal.Place the final black clip on the metal strut keeping your hood open and start your engine so it can charge the other battery. Let the car run for a few minutes, and then try starting the other vehicle to see if the battery is charged correctly.
